On January 13th 2013, a burial service for Marty was scheduled at the Mt. Richmond Cemetery in Staten Island. As much as I wanted to pay my respects to Marty, it would be an expensive, long, 700+ mile, fourteen-hour round trip. But following my theory of “just show up,” I decided to go.
Many of Marty’s friends were there; most notable were Marty’s business associates Tony Ettinger and Cooper Fallek, and his attorney Dane Rutledge.
My intention was to head home to Virginia Beach immediately after the service, but Dane suggested we go to SPiNY for lunch. I agreed.
